I say this because the thick aroma of Marijuana was prevalent almost everywhere here - the elevators, on the two floors we stayed and outside of renovation areas. Evidently, this only pertains to regular tobacco smoke, cigars and cigarettes. It is stated boldly on the doors entering into the lobby and is reviewed upon check-in. They have a very strict "No smoking" policy at this establishment. It was just a little bit better, but we appreciated it. When this was brought to their attention the next morning, they graciously transferred us to another room. An ironing board was present (it had no cover and looked to have been run over by a dozer), the bath towels were translucent and should have been retired for oil rags years ago. When we checked into our room, we found that the air conditioning was struggling there, as well. Walking into the lobby/check-in area was quite welcoming if you enjoy sweltering temperatures - there was no air conditioning. The motel trim is in need of paint and repair, badly. But that AC issue MUST be fixed.…Īrrival onto the premises should have been our first warning. Room was clean and, aside from temps, was comfortable. If they are struggling to keep staff it may be because they don t want to work in an absolute inferno. Went upstairs, packed, came back down, still no employee sightings. The entire time we were in the breakfast room we saw no other employees there or in the lobby. Breakfast was supposed to last until 9:30 but we got down just before 9 and there was hardly anything left. brought a cold washcloth to bed with me and eventually drifted off. I took a cold shower to help but even that failed after awhile. Sleep was difficult as I need lower temps. If you sat right next to it, you felt ok, but only feet away the room was a stuffy nightmare. I thought, ok this is probably the first real hot day of the year and maybe it needs to catch up. Check in was fast and I thought surely the room would be cooler. I waited for over 5 minutes before someone finally poked their head out from a back room, and that was after I started making a little noise at the counter. Two huge fans were running behind the unmanned desk. I was expecting a blast of AC as it was 106 outside, but was greeted with only slightly cooler temps than outside. My first bad clue should have been right when I walked in the lobby. I tried to excuse some things in my mind but after reading some more reviews here, it seems they are recurring issues.
